How to create a QR treasure hunt
My daughters have recently been scouring consumer products for QR codes to scan. I know how much they like geocaching and treasure hunting, so we have done some really short household hunts for fun.
Following are the steps to create your own hunt. You will need a QR reader app for your smartphone.
We really like the free one i-nigma.

1) Use Google images to get a URL for something around the house. I picked a fender banjo.

2) Visit QRStuff.com and use the URL above to create a custom QR code. Your QR reader app then will open up the picture of the banjo, which is the clue. Go ahead, try it on the QR code here -> |
3) Repeat the two steps above until you have enough items that you can chain together a hunt. Make sure you have a prize at the end. I usually will draw little cartoons. It doesn't take much, just have some reward to make it exciting. Below are some of the codes I used in a hunt this weekend.
